FAME-EMMI Anniversary Meeting 2019

Bordeaux, 21st- 22nd March 2019.

The EMMI network originated in the Network of Excellence FAME, which started in 2004.

Since then EMMI has initiated many EU projects and collaborations. The first of them was the ERASMUS MUNDUS Master programme FAME-Master, which started in 2007 and recently obtained renewal funding for the 3rd time.

Another flagship project is the Doctoral School IDS-FunMat and its successor EJD-FunMat.

We will celebrate a special meeting next march of the anniversaries of EMMI and FAME-Master and at the same time hold the final meeting of the projects IDS-FunMat and EJD-FunMat.

Over 2 days the meeting will include reports from former Master and PhD students and several lectures for the general public that are discussing hot topics in materials science and initiations of new European projects from the EMMI community.

One highlight will be a presentation from Donna Strickland from the University of Waterloo, Winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics 2018.
